Kalkidan’s parents passed away due to illness and she is now being raised by her aunt in Debre Birhan city. Her aunt is illiterate and works making pottery, while her husband is a daily laborer. Collectively, they earn about 4,500 ETB ($27) a month and live in a temporary shelter. Each day is a huge challenge, as they are living a desperate life.
