Halid, ED015

Halid has been living in an IDP camp in Debre Birhan with his aunt since they fled their village after it was attacked by ethically motivated rebels. Both Halid’s parents were killed in a horrific manner by the attackers. His aunt is illiterate and without work. They survive off of the small and irregular support they receive in the camp. Halid is 12 years old and currently in 5th grade. He desperately misses his parents and is often overcome with grief.
