Eyob’s mother is 28 and dropped out of school in 7th grade. Eyob’s father lives with the family and was working as a day laborer earning 1700 ETB ($36) per month until he lost his job due to Covid. The family is unable to pay rent for their own home so they live with other people. Without an income, their situation is dire. Your sponsorship provides food, supplies and a stipend for child care. Our daycare is currently closed due to a government mandate while Covid numbers in the city are high. The stipend allows for Eyob’s parents to look for work to improve their livelihood.
