Aminat, ED020

Aminat just turned 7 years old and attends 2nd grade. She is an only child and lives a desperate life with her aunt in one of the IDP camps in Debre Birhan. Her aunt is illiterate and without work. They currently survive off the meager and irregular assistance they receive in the camp. Aminat’s mother died in childbirth and her father disappeared when the rebels attacked their village and destroyed their home. They continue to miss their home and grieve the loss of Aminat’s father having lost hope for his return.
