We have been having an amazing time on the road these past few months – catching up with old friends, seeing family and making new friends. It has been tiring but also very rewarding. It has been amazing to see people grab ahold of the vision that God has put in our hearts and share it with us. We have had amazing hosts, gotten to speak with incredible churches and groups as well as had a number of one on one times with awesome supporters. We had our first face to face meeting as an Embracing Hope Ethiopia Board of Directors, and we also got to have a great 2 week vacation at the beach in Ocean City, NJ. We hadn’t seen the ocean in 2 years, so we had a fun time playing there.
We’ve had a good time reconnecting with our families, including; getting to see Great Grandpa who is now 96 years old, meeting our Nephew Kieren for the first time, spending time with Grandparents and the kids getting to participate in a 4-H experience with their cousins as they readied their goats and pigs for the County Fair.
We’ve still got a number of places to be. This Saturday we will be at the Blue Route Vineyard in Media, PA…Sunday at Lancaster Vineyard in Lancaster, PA….next week in Syracuse….October 16th at Ithaca Vineyard in Ithaca, NY….October 16th (evening) at Wellsboro Vineyard in Wellsboro, PA…October 18th at a group in Altoona, October 23rd at Zion Lutheran in Hollidaysburg, PA, October 25th at a MOPS group in Hollidaysburg and October 30th at Koontz Church of the Brethren in Koontz, PA.
Our travels have taken us all over the place, but the one thing that rings true for all of us is that Ethiopia feels like home. That is a good realization to have! So, on November 4th we’ll leave The US to return to Ethiopia for the next chapter in the journey in a place that feels like home.
