Sad News

Today we have very sad news to share.  A little girl from the project named Farituna passed away last night. She was 3 years old.

Many of you have come to know her as the child who had Downs Syndrome and a heart condition that was further complicated by the closing off of the pulmonary artery.  Many of you have been praying for her and some of you advocated hard when we thought it might be possible to get medical intervention for her heart condition.

As time has gone on she has been having more and more cases of pneumonia and more labored breathing.  She was being treated by Doctors, however they did not see much that they could do for her.  Yesterday morning Farituna had a regular Doctor’s appointment at the Hospital, but they remarked that she was not doing well.  They gave her an appointment to return on Friday to see how she was doing.  However, she passed peacefully away last night at 6pm at home.

This morning was the funeral at a local cemetery.  There will now be a 3 day period of mourning for family and friends to stop by.  Please pray for us as we try to find ways to minister to Mom and her friends during this time of loss.

Please also pray for our staff and our family as we all are deeply saddened by her loss.   She was a true sweetheart with a smile that could light up the room and with an infectious joy.

We appreciate you standing with us during this difficult time.

  3. Jerry,

I am heartbroken for the loss of sweet Farituna. But I am celebrating the fact that she is now whole and in the arms of our Savior.

I will be praying for her mother, family and all who are impacted by her passing.
